I have created many Scratch games, each with its own unique style. In every game, I try my best to come up with novel ideas and intriguing art. Most of my games use pixel art which I make by myself. I never use elements from other people’s games for my design, because I like to keep it original.

One of my most worked on games is called “Pirate Bay.”

    Pirate Bay

Pirate Bay is a game that I am proud of making on Scratch. This is a single-player game featuring a pirate theme. The player is encouraged to explore the environment and follow a map to the goal, a treasure chest. The player can explore the map alone, or alternatively, can recruit other pirates to become trusty members of the player’s crew. The creatures of the sea are dangerous, so the pirate needs to be careful to follow the map.

    My code

There are a thousand lines of Scratch code for this one game, with the sole intent to make the game as fun as possible. In the next video, I will showcase the lines of code for each single element of my game.

    Game play

There are many tools and weapons in this game, and in the next video, I will be giving you a segmented play through of this game.

Dragon Boat (my history project in 5th grade)

An earlier Scratch creation from my 5th grade was my history class project on unique cultures of different countries, for which I chose China where my parents immigrated from. I incorporated tourist attractions, architectural designs, myths, and other things people use, such as the wheelbarrow and gunpowder. I took inspiration from rides at Disney Park and turned my project into a ride for visitors to experience .

I included a speaker with text boxes to inform the viewers of the many parts of the ride. I had limited time to create this game, but I hope you enjoy this adventurous yet bumpy ride! The next video shows the complete loop of the ride.

    The Heartbeat

I thought it would be fun to make a game to mimic the process of heartbeat. In the following game, called “The Heartbeat,” a player tries to survive as long as possible. Your job is to control each beat of the heart by pressing the space bar when a note passes by. But be careful because some notes are fake and will immediately turn blue. If you press on a blue note, the game will end. Missing a beat will also cause the game to end. The game gradually gets harder as the heart beats. My personal best score in this game is 80, but I designed a bot that can achieve as high as 180.
